Default Charging voltages

I have a 1998 36v EZGO TXT and curious at what voltage the charger should cut off? This is all new to me so I'm a little concerned with a brand new battery pack getting charged over 40v. The charging amps are steadily going down so I'm thinking everything is working right but don't want to kill a new battery pack by overcharging.

You may see upwards of 48.6 volts during the charge cycle....

Attached is the recommended charge profile for Trojan brand deep cycle batteries. Note that max voltage listed on the voltage scale is 2.79VPC (Volts per Cell).

A 36V battery pack has 18 cells, so the max on-charge voltage recommended by Trojan is 50.22V.

The max on-charge voltage reached depends on what type charger is being used. The legacy chargers (ferroresonant transformer type) typically shut off at 45V +/- 1V while the modern dV/dT type may climb closer to 50V.
