Default Reverse indicator light?

I'm thinking I'd like to add an indicator light on the dash for when the cart is in reverse. During my rebuild I put in a super duty reverse contact from Scotty B and didn't hook up the buzzer, as I hate the sound. I mounted the selector switch beneath the knees and upside down so it wouldn't get inadvertently hit. Now, I'm a bit concerned that someone relatively unfamiliar with the cart will get in it and not know which way they're going. I was thinking I could pull a wire from the switch and run that to the light. I'm assuming that it's pack voltage there but not home now to check it. If it is, is there a way to run a 12v light off of that? Resistor? Relay?

2001 36v ezgo series
Thanks

Can't you just run the buzzer wires to a 36v idiot light? Something like this

The control circuit for the Rev. Contactor is the same as your battery pack 36 or 48 volts. To use a 12v light use the wire from the rocker switch as shown in the install instruction for the buzzer but - pull the negative side of the light circuit from a 12v source. (relative to the main positive) to find this source use your handheld meter, put the red test lead on the main (+) and put the black test lead on the next battery in line (-). with 6/6v this should read 12v. That is where the light (constant) negative wire should land.

Another alternative is to buy a 36 or 48v LED and share the battery meter (-) that is already in the dash. I did this for a charger plugged in warning system but - I found a dash warning light not a harsh enough deterrent and added a beeper. God, they are annoying.

Thanks for all of the great responses. I was so focused on finding a light with the right "look" I didn't even think to search for something in 36v. I certainly over complicated it and won't do it this way but, purely for educational purposes, would a relay with a 36v coil triggering a 12v source from the reducer work?

Scotty, I should have thought about the way the buzzer was wired. I went back to your diagram and reviewed it. I get it about + voltage being relative to what battery you get it from, but had no idea the - would work the same way. Life is hard when you have no idea what you've doing. :). Also, thanks for mentioning the light not being noticeable enough for your charger warning. You've got me rethinking my plan. I've got some other lighted buttons on the dash so doubt anyone unfamiliar with the cart would think much of another one coming on. I didn't hook up the 1/2 speed either so I better just put the backup buzzer back in place.
