Default Full charge tries to move, then dies

Cart is a 2003+ Text. Controller is a CurtisPMC p/n73326G04

Keep in mind, I'm a complete novice, and electrically challenged.

Maintaining my batteries, one of the cables that was somewhat corroded, broke. Replaced the cables, and now the cart tries to move, but will not. It sat for about a 6 weeks.

On a full charge, the battery voltages read 6.5v.

With the wheels jacked up, in reverse, the solenoid clicks and the wheel will make one rotation. In forward, the solenoid clicks and the wheels move-stop, move-stop, and then won't move again.

Post check shows all the batteries still at about 6.5v, except for one reading 4.1v.

So is it really a battery issue, or could it be more (like a solenoid, or controller)? We plan to have the cart only a couple more years (maybe less as we are thinking of moving), so I don't want to invest anymore than I need to get it functioning again.

I would suspect the 4.1 battery as the culprit. Try getting a voltage reading on that battery while trying to move. It probably drops even lower. Time for some new batteries, or at least one used one if you can find a used one.

I agree with what was mentioned. I had the same thing happen and was shocked how one low battery could make such a difference. I replaced just the one with a used one and then it seemed every few weeks another would do the same. After the season I replaced them all and that was 3 years ago. Best move I made. Good Luck

You would be better off to replace the whole pack at the same time if you can. If not you'll end up with an unbalanced set of batteries.

Ok, I'll search around, see if I can find a gently used pack. Don't really want to pay up for a full brand new set at this point.

Are they any hints on where to go to find a good deal on new batteries? Recommendation on brand, type? Anything I should avoid?

Check with your local battery/ cart dealer. You want to find one that is similar amp hour and similar condition if your existing batteries. I wouldn't waste my money on used or reconditioned pack. Replacing one with a used one to buy some time maybe ok.

The best test to perform would be to eliminate that 4.1 battery out of the set. Hook it up with 5 batteries and if it runs then that battery is causing the problem.
