No sound or won't go

Helping a friend he put a new controller and solonoid on his 06 ezgo txt, still won't do nothin no sound in reverse or anything checked all batteries and wiring in great shape is there a switch like on gas carts that when u press's pedal it activate the solonoid or other parts he said under the cover where the f/r rods are that is was smokin from there there's two switches there like micro switches but can't figure out how o test them any ideas will be great thanks
