Default PDS beeps constantly...

I have a 06 PDS that I just put a reman'd controller in that I purchased from another member. It runs perfectly, actually a little better than before, except for one thing.... If the key is off and cart is in run mode, it beeps constantly. Cut the controller to TOW, it stops. Put in RUN, and turn the key on, it stops beeping and runs fine. It's only a low pitch and constant beep, beep, beep, beep. And not from the reverse beeper, much quieter. Is this possibly from connecting power to the controller with the TOW/RUN switch in the wrong position?

There could be corrosion in the harness allowing some leakage current to pass. Read up on that. In response to your question... yes, you could have corrupted a portion of the controllers memory by applying power without the controller safed. But I would check the harness first.

What happened with your original controller?

The original controller burned up.... Literally. There was a large arch between cables, solenoid, and controller. Not sure what came first (chicken or the egg) but the end result was a hole clear through the controller, burned up solenoid, and a bunch of burned wiring. I had to replace several cables, solenoid, and controller
