Left stranded
Ok I'm starting to hate electric carts, I'm an idiot for getting rid of the gas one. anyway here is my problem, I got an EZGO 36V medalist batteries 6-7 months old, new solenoid, new wires 300v made from welding wire, weren't cheap, been about a month on new wires all been good, today took a little ride and almost home it quit on me, battery cable and battery terminal melted, yes melted actual battery post on neg side from 5 battey to 6th battery but just the one end on neg side of batt #5 guess that would be 30v. What would cause this?

Re: Left stranded
its a loose connection, or a bad crimp.

Re: Left stranded
That would be sufficient to melt the battery terminal? Is there a way too keep all these connections tight or do you just have to constantly check them? And I appreciate the help

Re: Left stranded
You didn't say brand of batteries, but if they are Trojans, be extra careful not to over tighten.

Re: Left stranded
I might add, check with a torque wrench to manufactures specs.

Re: Left stranded
How many will admit they don't have a torque wrench that measures in Inches? If that's not a good question, anyone want to speculate the percentage of electric cart owners who do have the right torque wrench?
