Default Aftermarket controllers

Is there a controller manufacture called High Torque? A local gc dealer told me about them. I would like to purchase a 400 a controller and he said that is what he would get. I am working on a 1995 non dcs (series) with a 4 buss 6 pin stock controller. Cart is a friend of mine and it came with lift and tires. They left stock controller in, I think a (200 a ) and it JUST gets around. Many thanks in advance.

Hi torque was a motor modifier, they were the golf cart motor arm of Luna rebuilders (a local motor/starter/alternator repair shop, also used to do radiators & gas tanks). The Luna company was bought by Nivel and now only repairs motors & alternators, no performance mods. But they can get everything nivel sells.

Tel us a little about the series cart and it's use and we can recommend the right controller and associated upgrades.

What size tires are on the cart?
How many people ride on the cart?
Cargo Box or trailer?
Is the electrical system 36 or 48 volts?
What top speed is desired?
Is the used on or off the road?
Is the terrain hilly? If yes, steep or mild hills?
Is the footing sandy or muddy?

If you are looking for specifics on the motor my suggestion would be to just contact Chuck at EMP since he built it. If you tell him the EMP SN that should be enough info to pull up the specs.

Sounds like this is a series cart? If so I would suggest a Star control.

51-42S500 or 51-42L500 would give you the option of upgrading to 48V later.

Why settle for a Star control when you can have Alltrax?
Alltrax has double the warranty (2 years)
Higher peak and sustained outputs
Reverse polarity protection
Free end-user prorgramming
Shift on the fly options
Built in cooling fan
And it's nearly bomb and water proof

Did I miss anything?

If that controller requires a adapter box for the throttle, I would avoid it. If you have a Txt, it has a Its throttle, not native to those controllers as far as I know. Have had plenty of issues with the throttle adapter box over the years.
