Default EZGO Total Charge Problems

I see lots of information on Total Charge chargers but no picture like the one I have. I had assumed it was a Total Charge 1. It's not coming on when plugged into cart. The battery pack shows 35 volts at plug receptacle. The pictures I have found of the Total charge aren't exactly like mine. It has what I think is a relay on the back panel and a red wire coming off the board, next to the yellow one, going to the top spade of the timer. To check if the board is good which wires and where do I move them? Do I move the black wire coming from fuse to the top spade replacing the red wire or plug it into where the yellow one is? I do have power through the fuse so I know it's good. Appreciate any help.

Sounds like you have the ON-Board version of the Total Charge. (There was no TC-1, just TC, TC-II, TC-III and TC-IIII.)

I don't have a manual specifically for a TC, but Section G of the attached manual covers both on-board and portable versions of the TC.

There is troubleshooting in that section, but I'd start by measuring the voltage between the small Red and Black wires on the control board. They are the battery voltage sensing input to the control board.

With the charger plugged into cart and plugged into an AC outlet and the knob set to Start, you should read the carts battery pack voltage. If it is 35.0V as you mentioned, it should read 35.0V between the red and black wires also.

Thanks I'll try that. I borrowed a Lestronic charger with the same plug and when I hooked it up to the battery pack and plug in it hums loudly but only showed a 2 to 4 volt charge on the meter.

The meter on the charger most likely reads Amps.

When the charger first comes on, it ought to put out something in the neighborhood of 20A.
