Default Ausco brakes on a lifted cart.

Well, I just installed my new motor and I'm ready to feed my addiction with another hit of cart crack! I have been looking at the Ausco system as an upgrade and reading posts on the forum. I have seen where folks have installed them on the top of the assembly, but have also seen where this isn't possible with a lift kit. I have what I believe to be a factory EZGO 4" lift on my cart. I say this because I have looked at the components and compared them to pics on the internet of these kits. The dealer also told me that the kit would have been either an EZGO or a Madjax kit. This lift was on the cart when I bought it this summer. Wheels are 12" rims with a 23" tire.

My question is...Has anyone been able to install Scottyb's kit on their lifted cart (with similar lift kit) and able to install the calipers and pads on top?

Yes some people have installed the brakes on top with a lift kit. You will just have to see if your particular kit will allow or interfere with that location. If you want post some pics showing the parts you think may be in the way of top side mounting and we will give our opinions ..... something we are never shy of around here

I will add some pics in a day or two. I will also be getting with you some time after the first of the year for the kit. On 12" wheels on a bottom install, how far off of the ground do they sit?

I'm interested in knowing if they can be top mounted, on the bottom it takes way to much ground clearance away. I am surprised it takes up that much space looking at the pictures.

Thanks Shriner for the pics. They actually don't look as low as I would have thought them to be. I will still try to mount them high but if I cant, this is acceptable.
