Ezgo 20.5 wheels
I am about to purchase some new wheels for my TXT.
I am set on 12 inch rims. The tires will be 18 inch or 20.5. I am trying to decide. Is there any chance that going with the 20.5 inch tires I could have problems with it rubbing on non lifted TXT. My TXT has No lift...And everything is stock. Can old leaf springs cause 20.5 inch tires to rub on front or back? I think I prefer 20.5 over the 18 inch tires, but really don't want to deal with potential problems...If any.... Thx Skip Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk |

Re: Ezgo 20.5 wheels
I have size 205-65-10 tires on my 2007 TXT without lift. These tires are listed on the sidewall as 20.5 inches dia. and they are a good fit inside the wheel openings. So far, I have had no issues with running or rubbing. My operation is mostly on level paved roads. My springs are original and have never been replaced. I don't have a rear seat, so I can't say what might happen with 2 more passengers in the rear. HD springs might be needed with a rear seat. Others could answer that. Good luck - RAY

Re: Ezgo 20.5 wheels
the 20.5 will work just fine.....whether they rub or not truly depends on the wheels you mount them on.....as the offsets will make the difference.

The wheels are 3x4 offset from madjax.
What does 3x4 mean? I somewhat understand the concept of offset...But not sure what the 3x4 means. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk |

Re: Ezgo 20.5 wheels
A 3+4 rim is 7" wide at the bead and the mounting flange is 3" from the inboard bead and 4" from the outboard bead. This gives the tire sidewall closest to cart 0.5" more clearance than a center mounted flange.
The attached are the best explanations of offset I've been able to find. |

Re: Ezgo 20.5 wheels
Positive offset moves the wheel inner bead towards the suspension and "wraps" the wheel around the brake rotor. Gives the wheel a flat look from the outside. This is the current trend on autos and trucks. Negative offset moves the inner bead away from the suspension and gives the wheels that deep dished look as on the muscle cars from the 60's.
