Default How is the stock fuse block wired? I want to add a radio using this for 12v.

I want to add a radio using the stock fuse block for the 12v. I have 2012 TXT (48v) with factory lights - as in they were installed by the factory. I thought one side would positive and one side negative but it is not. Actually if I check against the negative from the battery one side shows 13v as expected but the other side shows 6.5v. By side I mean one of the columns - one side of the fuse itself. The stock system has the D.C.-D.C. Converter from ezgo with headlight, horn, tailoghts and brake sensors hooked up. There are two extra fuse slots so I want to get the 12v here and have a fuse as well seems like a clean way to add it. Any help is appreciated.

I have a 48txt with the factory lights and converter but it is not where I can get to it right now to look. Most converters share the input and output ground so I would think if you hooked a meter to the pack - and the fuse buss bar it would give you 12-14 volts. This is probably switched..

standard on the medalist is negative of 12v fuse panel hooked to battery pack.

See if you have a lead coming off battery pack - battery 6, last in line. You probably get 13 volts from the terminal you need - the 6.5 volts you are getting are probably in the middle of the pack. Reducer made to go from full 48 to 12 - maybe 24 to 12 gives you the 6.5v

If not maybe search for the reducer and use that negative.

I put a fuse in there and had 13v on both sides with the reference as the negative directly off the battery. It seems like they used the batter for negative for everything. There's 3 or 4 wires/grounds connected there.

thanks!

Probably 3 wires there. High current lead, charger lead and an accessory ground.
