Charging problems
We just picked up our first golf cart. 98 ezgo converted to 48v. Previous owner left the 36 volt plug on cart and put matching plug on quiq charger. All batteries replaced less than a year ago. 6 8v deep cycle. The charger will only go into low voltage and sometimes go into protection mode. The highest I saw bank get was 45 v and cart will move 15 feet and drain bank down fast. Could I plug in neighbors 36v charger to charge batteries to test? Thanks in advance

Re: Charging problems
What is the model number of the Quiq charger?
They come in both 36V and 48V versions and 45V is about what a 36V charger tops out at. ----------- At 45V, your batteries are less than 10% SoC (State of Charge) and trying to move the cart with them is most likely irreversibly damaging the plates. |

Re: Charging problems
The Quiq charger tries to "trickle" charger the pack up to a minimum voltage before it goes into its normal charge cycle, so I'm pretty sure you ought to measure some voltage at the output plug when the power cord is plugged into AC Power.
What error codes are you getting? (See attached Manual) |

Re: Charging problems
No error codes except for one time. The 1 on the scale just steadily blinks

Re: Charging problems
Suggest you contact Delta-Q. Maybe they can tell you what is going on with the charger.
Or, replace it with a DPI Accusense charger: http://www.cartsunlimited.net/chargers-36-48v.html |

Re: Charging problems
Start with a battery voltage check....you could still have a bad battery.

Re: Charging problems
All the batteries are less than a year old, full of water and show about 7.5 volts.

Re: Charging problems
Got it charged a good bit and took kids for a ride. 16 mph flat land. Will charge it fully and see where I am at. It has a posi rear end in it that is going to play hell on the yard.
