EZGO 2FIVE Interlock problem

Hi, I'm new to the forum. I was glad to find such a great resource.

I recently purchased a 2013 2FIVE with only 800 miles on it. The car works great, but I have an intermittent problem that seems to only occur after charging. The car powers on, including lights, but will not move. The reverse buzzer also does not buzz.

Like most carts, the 2FIVE has an interlock function that prevents the cart from moving when the charging cable is attached. I suspect the interlock is not disengaging, causing the car to not move.

I have to plug/unlplug the power cable several times and eventually the car goes back to normal.

Does anyone know where the interlock circuit is on the 2FIVE? Any other suggestions?

Welcome to BGW> Does the cart run if you let it sit for awhile? If the no-go situation occurs right after charging the pack voltage may be triggering the over voltage lock-out and waiting allows the pack to settle to an acceptable level.

What code flashes on the display when no run? If it's the charger interlock there will be a code of "1005" if I recall. The solution is to wait about 20 seconds after Unplug charger before turning key on.

Thanks for the quick replies! I will try waiting a few minutes next time it happens. I didn't notice a code flashing on the display, but will check more carefully next time.

By the way, I called EZGO support and they just said it might be a bad charger. I asked if they repaired chargers - they said no! I'd have to buy a new one!
I'm starting to miss my old 2001 TXT... It was so simple!

I did a bit more troubleshooting and found that two pins on the top connector on the charger are burned! The connector felt very hot in that corner.

Does anyone know where I can buy this connector, or do I need to buy a whole new harness? Hopefully the charger is ok...

Seen tons of those. The pin in the charger will be damaged as well. That Sucks.

Thanks for the tip. Fullriver doesn't seem to have the exact same model. I think EZGO has a special OEM model with custom connectors. The model number of mine is 922-4852-E6B.

Are you suggesting I buy a generic one and retrofit it?

If you call them, they have all the models available as far as I know. Don't just rely on what you see on the website. I have always been able to get the exact one I needed from them. They are quite helpful on the phone in my experience. That model charger is not one that is only available from ezgo, it was used on some westerns & garias too.

The interlock is wired to the charger port, a light blue wire in the main harness that runs to pin 11 of the 35 pin controller connector. It does not run to the Accessory harness, which is where the 10 pin connector you are dealing with is located.

The 2Five onboard charger/converter contains more than just a charger, it also contains the 12V DC-DC converter that powers the vehicles 12V loads. With the stock 12V loads, the 12V current draw is within the 18 Amp rating of that connector. However, if someone adds too much 12V accessory load to the Accessory harness wiring, the connector will overheat and be damaged. Just replacing the connectors will not solve the problem. You must treat the cause of the problem, or the new connectors will fail as well. I have a brand new 2016 2Five harness set here and it appears that the badly burned pin on your connector is one of the two black battery ground wires. On is for charging the battery, the other is the ground for your 12V electrical system. That seems to be your burned connector. The black and white pair are to the remote LED. If you need to, you might be able to reduce 12V load by swapping headlights and tail lights for the new LED ones. Here is a wiring diagram of that 10 pin charger plug.
