Brake switch hook up
I recently bought a 2014 ezgo rxv and wanted to hook up a brake light switch. Watched a couple videos online so I pulled up the floor and there is no place to plug the switch into. I assume this must not be a factory wire harness. It has brand new led lights on it. Any ideas if I can tell what brand light kit it is. Also in the well next to the accelerator pedal I have 5 wires not connected with connectors on the ends and tags labeled 1,2,3,nc and common

Re: Brake switch hook up
Bob this is NOT a factory wire harness. These lights were added to the cart so its a separate wire harness. I thought I would have to add a switch because these light and harness don't tie into factory wiring. I'm probably wrong I'm sure. I think I was told it was madjax light and harness. I have 5 leads/wires labled 1,2,3, nc and com down by accelerator pedal going nowhere.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/121972018736 There is a Brake Light PWM setting in the controller that allows the relay drive to be adjusted, and at what amount of brake pedal application it turns on the brake lights. |

Re: Brake switch hook up
So just buy this and plug it in? I just don't understand how a separate light circuit will energize the brake lights but that price I cant complain. I don't think at any given point the new light circuit is tied to any of the existing wiring

Your aftermarket tail lights may have the brake lights on both sides wired to the tail light circuit. However, if your lighting kit had the turn/brake light option, that may be brought out to those wires you mentioned earlier. Where are you located? Bob |

Re: Brake switch hook up
I am located in Connecticut. I'm a little confused with the wiring because I don't want to burn anything out. I do Heating and cooling for a living and know wiring pretty well but cart wiring is new to me and don't want to burn anything out

Re: Brake switch hook up
Not sure if you have a Napa in Conn but I bought a couple of 24 volt relays from them for a charger project I started on. Part # LIT1924 $11
