Default CURTIS 1205m-5603 led light wiring

I just found a plug that I bought for my sons car stereo amplifier long time ago.
The plug is the exact one that I need to plug into my 1205m-5603 speed control program socket
So is there a way to wire in a led service light to read out any errors.
I seen a diagram in the manual but I'm not sure what it will accomplish?
Anyone else done this before?

Is it even possible to put a trouble code type led on 1205m-5603 socket?

Yes it is. It would be wired to a Mini-Fit Jr 4 pin square plug that plugs into the programming port. Pin 1 is controller RXD, Pin 2 is Logic Ground, Pin 3 is controller TXD, and Pin 4 is +15V output. To enable a status LED, you must jumper Pin 1 to Pin 4, and Pin 3 is the status LED output. The other LED lead wires to Pin 2.

Here is the manual.

I would just add to triple-check you have identified the pin locations correctly as the J4-4 pin you need to jump has +15v and it would be a problem if you connect it to the wrong pin.

Also, according to the specifications, the maximum LED output is less than 2ma, which means You need to shop for a "Low current LED".

Thanks I was just wondering what led I could use .
Good idea on checking the outputs first.
And thank you Bob for the quick response.

Here is an example of a 1ma LED (3mm):

You can also find them in 5mm size, but the 1ma variety is hard to find in stock:

Sergio I think I found something that will work? What do you think?

LOT OF 5 11mm SQUARE PANEL INDICATOR /PILOT LIGTH WITH CLEAR LENS AND RED LED/ 1.6V 16ma/ 6 INCHES WIRE LEADS
YOU NEED TO USE A DROPPING RESISTOR TO USE WITH ANOTHER VOLTAGES
THE SQUARE HOLE TO BE MOUNTED IS ABOUT 8mm by 8mm
MANUFACTURED BY LUMEX AN U.S. COMPANY// REVIEW PICTURES AND THANKS FOR LOOKING

I can get 5 for 7.50 to my door.
Will this work as Is?
Thanks Shawn, Seaquell

Maybe BobBoyce knows the answer, but if the LED output pin (J4-3) is 15v, You will also need a 10kΩ x 1/4watt resistor in series with the LED to limit the current.

No resistor required. When in Status LED mode, the output is current regulated. Which means the voltage would rise to match the forward voltage of the LED used. A higher current (such as 5 or 10 mA) LED can be used, but it would be less bright than spec'd because of not being driven at full rating. If he uses a 1 mA rated LED, it could actually be burned out from being overdriven, but I doubt it.
