92 ezgo 36 volt
Picked up this cart and it was not working at all. Replaced the MS-3 switch so contactor would work. Replaced the Curtis Controller and it started working. Problem now is when you run in forward or reverse it takes off in full speed. It like the forward is working fast a soon as you press the pedal and slows down the more you press it down. Thanks in advance.

Re: 92 ezgo 36 volt
Please tell us what type drive system you have. If you have a pot or ITS. Your newer controller may want the opposite of what your pot is telling it to do, assuming you have a pot system.

Re: 92 ezgo 36 volt
Sounds like you may have bought a used controller, and that controller may be a 5k-0 throttle for a club car, instead of a 0-5k throttle controller for a Ezgo.. .. Sound like a reasonable possibility?

Re: 92 ezgo 36 volt
The controller came with a box of extra parts. I don't know much about controllers. It could be for a different cart.

Curtis 1204-????
Those last 4 numbers are what identify a 0-5k controller or a 5k-0 controller. |

Re: 92 ezgo 36 volt
Assuming me and cgtech are correct, you may need to check your spare parts for a pot. I don't have any experience on pot systems, but if you have a pot, you may can change it out with the spare one.
Pots are pretty simple, so you "should" be able to use the one you have, but again, I have never actually seen a pot, so don't know what EZGO did to a several dollar part. |

Re: 92 ezgo 36 volt
Ok thanks. I will look for number tomorrow. Will have to lift cart up to read numbers because plate is on bottom of controller.
