96 DCS won't run
I have a 96 Ezgo DCS that will not run. I've performed the 7 step test procedure from Ezgo and every step checks good.1. 36 volts at B+, 2. 36 volts at pin 10 on controller, 3. 36 volts at pin 9 on controller, 4. 36 volts at pin 5 on controller with accelerator pedal down, 5. 36 volts at pin 7 on controller, 6. 13-15 volts at pin 2 on controller, 7. 0.4-1.6 volts at pin 1 on controller. I have 36 volts at the motor, and I've disconnected the motor and tested it by jumping the proper terminals and connecting 36 volts directly to the motor and it will run.
I don't know what else to do! Please help!!! |

If you also have "36V" on pin-6, your controller is defective. When you press the pedal, "36V" is applied to Pin-5, which tells the controller to connect Pin-7 to B-, but Pin-7 still has "36V" on it so the controller is not doing what it is supposed to do. Replace the stock DCS controller (which is a failed design) with an Alltrax XCT48400DCS. |

Re: 96 DCS won't run
Thanks JohnnieB for your response. This cart has a 36 volt system. When I first started checking this cart out somewhere in the process the solinoid stop working, I did not have the 13-15 or the 0.4-1.5 volts so I sent the controller to Mountaintop golf cars for a rebuild($200). That may have been a mistake on my part. I will check pin 6 and see what the voltage reads on that.
Thanks! |
