Default Installing New Charging Receptacle

I had a wiring problem with my Charging Receptacle on my 97 EZGO TXT 36v. I ended up buying an entirely new charging receptacle kit with wires from EZGO.

I am not sure where the wires connect to the battery pack and where the red wire connects. I don't see any place for the red wire to connect.

Thanks for any help.

??? Black to positive??? Since when? That's house wiring you are thinking of.

Coffee hasn't kicked in yet. I even went downstairs and checked the wiring, to be sure of the colors, as I'm used to red + and black -. I knew + wasn't red, and was pretty sure it was white. Mine is as you say.

Good catch.

So we all agree - White is DC positive. Black is negative.

Don't have any way of checking right now. Somebody please tell me Club Car is white negative and red positive at those two points.

White is Positive, Black is Negative.

Where does the Red connect? I don't see the male end that it would connect to?

Also does it matter where on the battery pack the positive and negative are attached?

See pic of the red wire:

If it runs without the red connected, the reed switch has been bypassed, and is not needed. Likely, the previous owner pulled the other end and connected it straight to the pack.

As to the white and black, you can either find them with a dmm, or find the first battery and last one in the pack. All battery posts are connected to another battery, with the exception of the two terminals that give you 36 v + and 36 v -. The battery posts are labeled as to + and -.
