Who sells a easy upgrade to Lithium package? Not one that takes a lot of fabrication by owner.

I just did one as you can tell by my recent posts. I got mine from hybridautocenter.com and Nick was responsive and helpful. I chose one of his Nissan Leaf battery packs. If you are running 36v and only need 5-10 miles I would choose the 5 module pack. If you are running or plan to run 48v then you could go with a 7 module pack or the new 3 module (equivalent to 6) 82Ah pack.

For my needs, the 5 module pack would have been perfect, but I found a good deal on a controller so ordered the new 3 module pack as it has extra running time. Good deal fell through on the controller, but had already ordered the pack so was forced to buy the Alltrax 400 PDS. I don't have solid numbers on distance yet (plan to figure that out tomorrow) but its definitely over 20 miles.

Just replacing a 36v pack with the 5 module pack will improve torque due to saved battery weight and in my case a 1 mph gain.

The process is very easy and close to turn key. Take out the old batteries. Replace the + and - battery cables to the controller and solenoid with an Anderson connector sold by HAC. Figure out something to put the new battery pack on. Put the pack in the cart and plug in the Anderson cable connection. I do not currently have any auxiliary battery connections, like lights or radio so I did not need to wire in a reducer.

Impaper, what protects the battery from overcharging, over discharging? What do you have for a "fuel gauge"? What charger is used (I assume not the stock ezgo)? These are all things that would be expected by a customer for a "easy conversion kit".

Thanks cgtech! I know you knowledge of Lithium setups far surpasses anything I can comprehend. I am simply a novice who found a solution that is good enough for me.

The pack I purchased comes with a battery management system (BMS) that has a wifi connection where you can see the pack voltage as well as the individual cells. The BMS protects from overcharging and over discharging. Secondary over discharging is handled by setting the minimum on the Alltrax. Overcharging is also protected by the charger. You will need a different charger as your existing charger will not be compatible. I have a digital volt meter from Scotty which I will use as my "fuel gauge".

Does that include everything I need except optional charger?
Or do I have to build an enclosure for the battery/bms assembly?

If you purchase the DIY Assembled, it comes all put together an ready to plug in. The BMS is in the price. I added the Wifi to the BMS, charger, L brackets and Anderson connector. You could build an enclosure to put it in, but may not need it if only used on paved streets/sidewalks like me.

The pack I got was not listed on his web site but is similar in price. The modules are new generation 2016 leaf modules that are 82Ah and a total of 12 cells. The one you are looking is about 60Ah with 14 cells. The trade-off between the two is volts and runtime.

The 12 cell pack will run longer because of more Ah. The 14 cell pack will have more torque and speed because of more volts.

Can the controllers designed for 48v handle the 58v of these packs?

Sorry for causing confusion by mixing modules and cells. Most Leaf modules have 2 cells in each one. The exception is the new Leaf modules that have 4 cells in each and are physically the size of 2 older style modules.

The 7 module pack you linked to has a total of 14 cells. The 3 module pack I purchased has a total of 12 cells.

A pack of 7 modules would be nominal: 53.2v @ 60Ah (3200Wh)

The BMS uses the center tap to access individual cell pairs.
