Default Ezgo 36v txt-maiden voyage was 50yds...

ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. NEW TO CARTS. BUT ENGINEERING / MECH BACKGROUND. STRIPPED ALL ELECTRICAL ITEMS (LESS MOTOR & ITS). BEEN REPLACING EVERYTHING (INCLUDING WIRE TERMINATIONS) FOR THE LAST MONTH. THE CART HAD WATER DAMAGE FROM THE HURRICANE.

MAIDEN 'VOYAGE' WAS SHORT. BACKED OUT OF THE GARAGE (BEEPER BLARING) ABOUT 50 YRDS. PUT IT IN FWD AND IT LURCHED AND STOPPED MOVING FWD OR REV.. SOLENOID CLICKS WHEN I PRESS THE ACCELERATOR. CONTROLLER COOL TO THE TOUCH. NO FLAMES.

I DID NOT CHANGE THE ITS...LOOKED OK BUT THERE WAS SOME WATER IN THE BOX WHEN I OPENED IT. NEW MICROSWITCH. ITS POTTED AND IN GOOD SHAPE WITH NO CHARCKS SO I DIDN'T CHARGE IT.

I DID NOT CHANGE THE MOTOR.

I'M NOT ELECTRICAL BUT READ SCHEMATICS ETC...BECAUSE OF MY DEFICIENCIES, I SWAPPED OUT EVERYTHING ELSE. TOOK GOOD PICS TO DOCUMENT BEFORE AND AFTER. PRETTY SURE I PUT IT BACK TOGETHER CORRECTLY...IT RAN FOR 2 MINS REVERSE OUT OF THE GARAGE.

SUGGESTIONS???

Open the pedal box and dry out the ITS with a hair dryer. Often best done while she is away.
If throttle remains erratic check the harness connection between the ITS and controller. Notorious trouble spot - sometimes best replaced with 4 butt connectors.

Please turn the cap lock off if - It's poor forum etiquette.

THX Scotty B...no offense meant by the caps. Old school engineering bad habit.

No Problem - It is a forum tactic which is read as yelling.

I would bet that your motor had water inside and that the brush holders are rusted so that the brushes stop making contact to the commutator. Pull the motor, disassemble and repair. It should be repairable.

ITS also don't like much if any water, so if it sat in water for a bit even though it doesn't look damaged it may have gotten water inside and killed the connections

I'm an old school engineer, before DOS, and all caps meant screaming back then. VMS and Unix, but I've been guilty of hitting caps lock instead of shift.

HAHA...I'm a mechy and Bill of Materials and Notes were printed in all caps. Stuck with me. Still can't write cursive to save my life short of my signature.

Still no offense meant.

If it's the ITS or solenoid with water, a leaf blower will speed up the drying.
