DPI charger
The DPI charger has a float charge?
How does that work? On a 36 volt pack... Does it take it up to around 45.5 like my existing charger and cuts off... Then turns back on if it drops below a certain amount? Thx Skip Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk |

Re: DPI charger
When it finishes the charge cycle it initiates the float charge which is a low amp trickle type charge that compensates for the battery's static loss. Basically keeping the pack 110% charged for about a month then initiates the charge cycle and then goes back to the float for another month and then recharges and goes to float.... like that. If power is interrupted it resumes the cycle. Great for winter storage or seldom used carts.

Re: DPI charger
Basically it gives the pack a consistent low amp charge continuously?

The voltage picked is above the normal At-Rest voltage for 100% SoC, but less than the gassing voltage. The DPI shuts off the regular charge cycle using dV/dT technology rather than cutting off at a specific voltage. Basically it charges until the On-Charge voltage stops climbing. More correctly, when the rate of voltage climb decreases below a predetermined rate. |

Re: DPI charger
Not trying to "catch you". just trying to make searches accurate. I made a horrible mistake on charger wire colors, so we all make mistakes.

Re: DPI charger
I just purchased a dpi charger from Scotty a short while ago. My 2012 48 volt cart uses a fuel gage to indicate voltage level. I noticed that after a round of golf the gauge show quite a bit more charge than when using the factory charger. Why would this be? It shouldn't be charging to a higher voltage level should it? Batteries are a year old.

Re: DPI charger
What was your score in your golf game?
Maybe before you were chasing your golf balls all over the golf course and now with the Scottyb new charger, you have this new found confidence in your golf game...and striking the ball better. Just saying... Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk |
