Default Can POR-15 keep this frame intact and usable?

I'm tearing down my 99 TXT to rebuild it, and was wondering if this was too much rust damage to cover with POR 15? Pic 1 is by accelerator, Pic 2 is by brake pedal, Pic 3 is on passenger front, and Pic 4 is the radius on drivers side where it forms the firewall. All shots are taken from underneath the frame, by the driver side wheel.

Thanks in advance!

I think it's a bit hard to say from the photos. I can see you've applied por 15 to some pieces already. Do you have an angle grinder? Get a wire wheel, or a flap disk, and knock off the surface rust. With por 15, you don't have to get it all off, but take down what you can, then you'll have a better idea of the integrity of what's left.

I agree with orangeman. If you're tearing it down completely anyway, make the determination after it's apart. It depends on the structural integrity. If it's rusty, otherwise solid, sandblast the entire frame, make the necessary repairs, coat with POR and you're good. Just painting a little here and there will make you feel good but won't help much. Good luck

Thanks. Haven't touched the frame yet, in final tear down stages. Will post more pics after I clean and prep it. The plan is 100% POR 15 coverage.

It looks like it will be fine if those are the worst part of the whole frame.
Like the other guy said, wire wheel it in the bad rusty spots to bare metal then power wash the rest and it will be good to paint.

Good luck it will look like a NEW GOLF CART

Sandblasting is the way to go. If most of the frame is good, no loose paint, no rust, you can just sandblast the rust spots. When done, you will see REAL well how much good metal is left. Prime and paint, [doesn't have to be POR] and you will never worry about "incubating" rust under a layer of plastic.

I had my 2009 RXV frame and dash frame sandblasted and powdercoated. It cost me $300 but it was well worth to me at the time. I was busy doing other things. I just delivered it the company that did it and picked it up when it was done. I left it to an expert to make sure that the frame was safe to use and the work was done by a pro that does that sort of thing every day.
