Default 36v to 48v will motor hold

Has any one dumped 48v into a 36v motor? Will it hold or go up in smoke?

IS it a controller or a resistor cart? Resistor carts are cheap to run 48v, controller carts will need a new controller to run 48v

Both of mine are working good one is going on over one year of 48 volts One a 480 amp and other on a 650 amp controller... Not wheelie machines but, snap your head back starts and climb a wall torque

What do you have ?

I've got an 82 EzGo 3 wheeler. The kids have melted the wires and the f/r switch, so I am in the rebuild stage.
New batterys.
new f/r switch
new cables
and a fresh coat of paint.
