Default Lift question

I have a 2002 ezgo txt. Right now it is stock height, but I am wanting to get it up off the ground a bit. I really didn't want to go to high because I don't want to change the controller or motor. I just wanted to gain some ground clearance to get around the campground with people on the back seat. There are a few spots that the back footrest drags. What are my options and if you have any pics I would appreciate it. Thanks

With a back seat you should have heavy duty springs installed. That should add a minimum of an inch in rear height if you are still on stock 2-seater springs.

Stock controller is poor option for anything but golf on stock size tires.

Not to mention that his stock springs have 15 years on them. I upgraded front and back springs to HD and LOVE them.

If you just want to keep the back from sagging with passengers an easy fix is to make some longer shackles. I got some 1/4" x 1 1/2" steel flat stock from Lowes and made new shackles 2" longer than the stock ones. The shocks and everything else fits back just fine.

Cool, thanks guys. Yeah I planned on doing the HD leaf springs for the front and back. The only people that typically sit back there are my 3 small children, but I was going to change them anyways. So what controller do you guys recommend? I just put new trojan batteries on it towards the end of last year.

You said you didn't want to change controllers. Heavy duty springs may do everything you want. The earlier post that suggests that if you haul passengers you need to upgrade the controller to me doesn't make sense. Perhaps if you go to bigger tires but it you are running stock tires the HD springs and longer shackles might do just fine.
