Default Series or PDS?

Might be in the market for an EZGO and was wondering the difference? Cart would be used as a hunting cart, need a decent mixture of spreed and torque. Which is the better cart for future upgrades? What's the drawbacks of each?

ETA......did another search and came to the conclusion Series models would be better for upgrades. Opinions still welcome..........

Dlab.....you are on the right path. The SERIES drive system is considered the "work horse" of the EZGO stable, and will stand up to a bit more abuse. Its made for creeping along at part throttle, where as the PDS drive system is more made for stop/go driving at full throttle (like from ball to ball) on a golf course. A stock SERIES drive cart will typically have a top speed of around 14 mph, regardless of whether you upgrade the drive system or not, UNLESS you upgrade the motor as well OR make the jump to 48v (this will get you roughly a 30% bump in both speed and torque).

So how does a DCS cart compare to the series and the PDS?

The DCS cart was Ezgo's first sepex drive system. The DCS cart is sort of inbetween the Series and PDS. It produces more speed and less torque than Series and more torque but, less speed than PDS

If you get a series cart that says "freedom" on the side, it should be equipped with a series motor that can get you in the neighborhood of 19mph stock. That motor also responds pretty well to 48v upgrade too. Motor will say "hi speed" on it, where the fleet slow motor will say "flt speed".
