Default 2016 ezgo freedom - need more speed!

Looking to get more speed out of my new 2016 ezgo electric. Running 6- 8 volt batteries and getting 22 mph with 14" wheels and a low profile tire. I believe the stock gears are 16:1. Would like to get up to 30 mph and still have enough torque for the golf courses here in AZ. Would the 10:1 gears get me there? The 8:1 seem to be quite high. May be another option?
Thanks,
Byron

Stock gears are 12:1....higher gear more speed lower gear more torque. higher gear needs more torque in the motor. too hit that gonna MPH you need the controller to power it.

Is this an RXV or TXT? Final drive ratio is not the same for each.

Ezgo web site says 16:1 on the Freedom RXV.

Right, so be patient and wait for the people who have done this to comment. Basically you have to change gears and or lift it for larger diameter tires either of which come with compromises.

The RXV rear end is 16.99:1 limited slip. When you increase tire size on an RXV, you reduce effective torque and braking effectiveness. The motor provides regenerative braking, the only braking on an RXV during driving. The parking brake is not used while driving.

Thanks Bob, I got that part, I've had the new cart for a year. Looking to get more speed out of it by gearing it differently.

If you put gears in a Curtis Rxv, be prepared to deal with the cart rolling back after every stop.
