1995 EZ GO Medalist Faint buzzer/alarm when battery cables connected
Installed new batteries, referred to diagram posted on here to confirm proper connection. When the main negative cable is hooked up there is a quiet buzzer/ring tone like a very muted back up buzzer.
Is this some sort of warning letting me know I have something hooked up wrong? |

Noise is coming from controller because when I unhook the plug from the top it stops. Just don't know why it's making it in the first place.

Noise isn't coming from controller, it's coming from the back up buzzer. I just don't understand why it's on. Keys off, cart in forward, constant quiet tone.

Sounds like you have a DCS drive cart since the sound goes away when the plug on the controller is unplugged. (Has Run/Tow switch on controller cover)
In a DCS, the beeper has B+ applied to it 100% of the time (Red wire) and the controller applies B- to the other side (black wire or grn/blk), so there could be a phantom circuit (corrosion or conductive dirt) providing a little B-, or the controller is sick. |

Based off the info provided on the "series or sepex" post. Mine is a series motor. The F/R switch and the controller look the same and it has no tow/run switch.
The buzzer is mounted on the F/R switch, or at least the part making the noise is because I can feel it vibrate and actually mute it by holding a finger on it. |

Re: 1995 EZ GO Medalist Faint buzzer/alarm when battery cables connected
With a series drive the beeper has B- applied to it 100% of the time and to get it to sound, B+ has to be applied to the other side.
Normally this happens when the contacts in MS-4 on the F/R switch assembly close. Could be cross-talk between the terminals on MS-4 (microswitch) due to corrosion or conductive dirt. Could be a bad microswitch, they are not well sealed and gunk gets inside. The beepers work on a very wide range of voltages and need very little current, so it doesn't take much of an undesired conductive path to get them to put out a low volume sound. B+ to the beeper is highlighted in red on the attached schematic. B- is in blue. |

I was gonna say the same. Clean the back of the switch where the wires & screw terminals are. Just a little crud there will do it. Even washing the cart will do it.
