Default DCS cart goes fwd in fwd & rev.

No matter whether the lever is in Fwd or Rev the car goes forward. I checked the two micro switches and they work as they should. The wiring diagram shows a diode between the two switches, where is it located and could it be the problem ? otherwise I suppose it is the controller. Any help appreciated.

This is the typical Curtis DCS and PDS control failure. For some reason the reverse side of the control fails first and forward is the default direction.
Good news - It's time for a new Alltrax upgrade. I see more speed and torque in your future.

The diode was used in the early version of the DCS F/R switch. See attached photo

Also attached is a schematic of a later year DCS that uses two microswitches and does not have the diode.

With cart ready to be driven in reverse, but pedal not pushed.
Measure voltage on Pin-4 (Orange wire) in the 10 pin connector on top of controller.

It should be battery pack voltage (38.2V when fully charged) when in Reverse and 0V when in Forward.

If you get the battery pack voltage in Reverse and cart still goes Forward, the controller is bad.
