Stripped the hub/spline on my TXT
Is the driver side the offending one. How do I loosen the castle nut? The whole thing spins now.
Also to my surprise I removed the passenger side and found this [emoji16] Looks like the previous owner got tired and just welded the sucker. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk |

Re: Stripped the hub/spline on my TXT
it's called lack of talent or no money. The crazy thing is, to prevent the problem all you have to do is tighten the castle nut properly.
Chuck the axle, drum and bearing and start over-tighten the nut correctly and never have the problem again |

Re: Stripped the hub/spline on my TXT
Thanks GCG but still I'm struggling to remove the castle on the other side (the stripped one)?
The whole things rotate since applying the breaks does nothing on that side. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk |

Re: Stripped the hub/spline on my TXT
IMHO, seeing as the previous owner welded the other one....I'm betting he welded BOTH of them on. Personally, of I were to start this project, the first thing I would do is to remove the entire rear end out from the cart and remove the motor, where you have much better access to everything.

Re: Stripped the hub/spline on my TXT
Hahaha!
OK yesterday with a couple of friends and some redneck engineering got the castle nut loose!! Yee-haw!!! I follow the High tech instructions of the old thread. Jack up the cart, fix it so it does not move, get a big tire iron between the nuts and floor to keep wheel 2 from moving. Grab a wrench on the castle nut put the car in reverse and floor it :) Nut came out like butter. And by the way the drum was smooth as a baby; pics coming later :) Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk |
