Added a 'powered' am/fm antenna
Just a little add......
A while back I added an Alpine radio to the cart, primarily for playing music CD's. I had a crummy antenna, that I always wanted to replace with something that looked better than a whip sticking out of the roof. Finally stumbled across on that I liked, they call it the Shark, but you see it on all the new cars. I got mine from http://www.discountcarstereo.com/SFAS09.html, ran about $20... Install took about 30 minutes, including running the wires, one for the antenna connection, and a small pair for 12VDC power and ground. It's possible that the ground would carry thru from the antenna shield wire, but I elected to run a dedicated ground to the antenna. Like all other car stuff, they expected to use the frame.... Works very well, now get stations that were not good and clear..... |
