Default RXV Gas to Electric

Not 100% sure where this post belongs so I am going to start in the electric area as thats what I am trying to accomplish.
Back story, have an RXV(unsure of the year, but definitely and older version) at work that blew the motor, some idiot didnt check the oil level. I have a friend that is dying for a golf cart but his neighborhood does not allow for gas carts. I am debating on picking this cart up for him considering it is free and converting it to electric.

1. What are the modifications I would need to make to have a battery tray fit, or are there any necessary? I know I'll have to pull the rest of the guts out (tank, battery ect) i just want to make sure a battery tray will fit without having to change the frame around before I even grab it.

2. I already have an old axle and differential from a pds cart. I know the drive system is different in rxv's but my thoughts are that I can make this a pds run system since it is a blank cart and I already have wiring harnesses key switches etc. Is this feasible to accomplish or was the differential and axle a different length in the electric rxv.

Alright give me some thoughts on this, if I am able to do it, I would only be out the cost of batteries for the most part!

This is an expensive option. Much better to sell it and buy an electric cart.

Send motor out for rebuild, install new motor in cart, sell cart, have money for remuneration of desired products.

A strong "I second" of CGTech....

motors can be found, rebuilt very reasonably... a running gas cart sells quickly and for good money !

If you have the entire drive system (including motor, control, switches, wiring, etc), then just fabricate mounts to make it fit in the cart.

It's a good way to get rid of a stack of parts and shouldn't be too difficult to do, assuming that the rear axle is fairly easy to mount? Do you have a plan for the brakes? Everything else is just a matter of finding a place for it to fit.

Your friend is going to pay you for the work, right? Because you will spend several weekends on this.
