Default Charger off after 1.5 hours, limited distance on charge

Hey guys thank in advance. Donated last year and will again soon.

My charger shuts off after 1 hour to 1.5 hours, interstate batteries that I believe are 2012.

Show 6.29 across the board, I live in a very hilly neighborhood. My wife and I drove for maybe a mile and it barely made it back up our steep but not long driveway. Batteries read, 6.02, 6.02, 6.01, 6.01, 5.99, 5.94.

Is my charger not charging them? Are they not taking a charge?

Filled all of them 1/4" over plates with distilled water before charge.

well I don't know why its happening but your charger is not charging your batteries.

for a full charge, which is 38.3 v (100% charge, total pack voltage) which is roughly 6.38v per battery.... yours are at roughly 50% charge, and you shouldn't ever let them go below that.

Doesn't look good. It would be helpful to know the voltage of each battery before, during, and directly after the charger self-finishes. This will verify the charger is working as designed.

Ok, so I started charge and 5 batteries were 6.01, 1 battery was 5.83; charger at 20 amps

20 minutes 5 batteries at 7.18, 1 battery at 6.74 while charging; charger at 12.5 amps

30 minutes charger automatically turned off; 5 batteries at 6.49, 1 battery at 5.85

The same battery was consistent with the lower readings.

Thanks Again in advance for any help.

This seems to indicate that the 5 batteries at 6.49V are reaching voltage faster than the one battery at 5.85V is. Reduced capacity by sulphation in those 5 batteries would do that. Or something is draining that one battery lower and has it out of balance with the rest.

I have seen where you are supposed to replace all if you replace any but does that really apply to if it is just 1 of 6?

See if you can find a 6V charger to bring that one battery up. It may be the best battery of your set and is just not getting up to full voltage due to the other 5 getting too high too fast.

Thanks I'll try to bring that one up, however, I checked them 1.5 hours after the charge and they are all showing 6.10

I'm confused
