Default 1999 EZgo TXT no power on hills

I am working on an EZgo project cart. batteries are reading 6 to 6.4 volts. contoller is new and cables have been upgraded to 2 ga. I have 37.2V at the controller. I goes good inf fwd and rev on flat surfaces, but will not do even a slight incline?

Make sure that you did not wire up a sepex cart like a series cart. It could result in that symptom.

37.2v is a little low for pack voltage. I would suspect a bad battery or two. Check each one under a load and see how much they drop. Your pack should be 38.2 volt and only drop no more than 3-4 volts when driving.

Load test each battery. How old are the batteries?

they are suppose to be fairly new with very little usage. can the load test be done at an auto supply (auto zane, napa etc.) from what I have heard somehow it has to be load tested while driving?

My neighbor and I swapped his batteries to put into mine, they read nearly identical to mine and it would not climb. But he has no problem in his cart as he drove it up my drive to do the swap

clip the leads of a DVM on your battery post, then go up a hill and watch the reading. do this on each battery.

Look in the "stickies" at the top of the page. one of them is "guide to tell if you have a sepex or series"
