Default TXT PDS Speed Chip

I've read that the Freedom speed chip doesn't work on PDS fleet units so how does one tell if they have a fleet unit? My serial number, 2483255, tells me it's a 2007 cart but does it give me that info?

Or will the chip work in all carts?

Thanks
Chris

Should work fine on a 2007 PDS cart.

Only newer 48v Txt and Rxv use "freedom passkey" - aka- "chip". All the 36v Pds use what's called a "personality plug". It's just different combinations of wires in a 4-gang plug. All personality plugs are compatible with all stock PDS controllers.

PDS fleet? According to ezgo, that's a standard PDS model, so a speed chip will work in that vehicle, but no others.

48V TXTs require a programmer which I can do for free if you need help. You're only 30 minutes away from me.

Thanks for the replies. I was puzzling on why it was being called a chip when it's just a plug w/ two jumpers. <bg>

I just got this stock 36 volt cart and it had it's original batteries so it would only do 1/2 mph wide open. The good news is it lived inside a fair amount of it's life at the Quonset Air Museum. I steam cleaned it, painted the battery tray and made up new #2 cables and when the paints dry I can drop in newer batteries. I'm looking for a 15amp converter to add lights and a windshield. It's already got a back seat.

I'm researching going 42 volt and depending on cost may go that route. I'll be searching the archives to keep the dumb questions to a minimum.

Thanks for the programming offer.
