Charging and Battery Life?
If I'm using the cart throughout the day and plug it in whenever I have a chance, now its not going to get a full charge when I plug it in during the day. But at the end of the day it gets plugged in and it gets its full charge over night, will plugging it in for short charges during the day and its full charge at night shorten the life of the batteries?

Re: Charging and Battery Life?
The process is called "Opportunity Charging" and it lengthens how long it will be before the batteries have to be replaced as well as improving cart performance during the day.
The average SoC is a major factor in determining how long batteries last before replacements are needed and giving them an hour or two on the charge during the day will up the average. The cart also performs better when the SoC is is higher. However, it can be overdone. It depends on how you use your cart, but something like 30 minutes in the mornings and 30 minutes in afternoons with an hour during lunch works well for carts making numerous short trips. |
