Cool, amazon, thanks! You have very poor odds of guessing if it's right until you count yours. It seems like the "50-50 odds" would help since you know your cart, But, NOPE! count them teeth first. Unless you like the "return & wait" plan. Western used so much stuff, count first, order second. It's 21 tooth, or 22 tooth, they are not interchangeable.

Got my new input shaft today and installed it, but I have to wait for my new motor (DE3-4009A)that got damaged trying to take the old one out. Rear end is out of cart because I had to revert to the banging it on the ground trick. Will let you know the outcome when I finish.I'm thankful I found the correct motor. This would have been fairly simple project had the motor come out easy.

Just noticed that the new input shaft does not have a sealed front bearing, does anyone know if that makes a difference.

The motor side bearing ought to be a sealed hybrid (ceramic balls - metal races) since it gets little, if any, lubrication by the oil that climbs the gears and in within the magnetic fields the motor generates and exposed to the effects of eddy current erosion.

The bearing on the far side of the input shaft can be all metal and open or sealed.

Not OK, unless you have a seal that's not installed yet. With that bearing open like that, oil will be pouring out & garbage going in.
