Default brakes?? are drum brakes wroth trying to fix?

I have a 04 EZ-GO TXT 36v 6 inch lift 22" tires that will stop but it gets a little hairy if someone pulls out in front of you. I was wondering if the drum brakes are even worth pulling off and trying to fix ? or just junk them and get a disk set up.

You can ask 3 people and get three different answer but for me if safety is the issue I go for the better brake kit. I not much more when you tally up drums shoes and springs for the drum type.

If your drums can lock up the rear wheels, discs are not going to decrease stopping distance. Front brakes will.

I have stock size 18" wheels and I just finished adjusting my brakes. I can lock both rear tires up now. The drum brakes are fine when properly adjusted. Its not like your going to be road racing and using the brakes hard heating them up. Like someone else said in a previous post if you can lock up the wheels with drum the discs won't do anything for you, only front brakes will.
