Default 1999 txt

i have a 1999 txt 36 volts. brand new trojan batteries and up graded battery and motor cables. Its nothing but a pavement princess. speed is not an issue can only run 10 mph and its radar checked. i would like a little more torque to go up small paved hills. what can i do? what is the largest tire i can run without a lift kit? thanks for any help.

first question....is your cart a SERIES drive or a SEPEX drive?

to answer you last question about tire size is 20" diameter tires.....

seeing as how you have a series cart....and speed is NOT an issue....all you are needing/wanting is more torque. What you would need to do is to upgrade the drive's delivery system by getting a new higher amp controller/solenoid/HD F&R switch/bigger high current cables. depending on what size controller (amperage wise) would determine the size of the solenoid and the size of the cable set you would need as well.

by supplying the motor with more amperage, it won't slow down as much or not at all. depends on the incline.

Ironically, speed is the issue. The normal top speed on a hard level surface for a completely stock 99 TXT 36V series drive cart is about 14 MPH and whatever is keeping your cart's speed down to 10 MPH is also causing it to perform poorly on slight inclines.

The problem could be mechanical (Bearings, dragging brake shoes, etc) or electrical (Excessive resistance in amp delivery system, throttle not going to 100%, battery pack issues, etc).

Does the cart push easily? No noises heard when being pushed by hand?

-----------
Typically, 20" is the tallest tire without lifting.

i took the speed issue to be about regulation(10mph neighborhood speed limit) not absolute speed capability....it would be nice to hear a clarification....

All carts slow down going uphill and series drive systems slow more than other type drives. Installing taller tires will make the cart slow more on inclines than it does on stock (18" tall) tires.

My question at this point is, is it slowing more than it ought to be slowing in stock configuration? Or does it have normal stock performance and you don't want it to slow as much?

In other words, do you feel that the cart isn't performing like it ought to with new batteries and cables, or do you want it to climb hill better than stock?
