battery problems
had a battery go bad, bought a new one and placed it in the cart. everything is working and have had no problems until I went to check my monthly water levels and all the batteries were bone dry used over 2 gallon of distilled water to get them full again. the question is did I destroy all my batteries or will they be okay after they are charged up again.

Re: battery problems
Battery age?
Well you did shorten the life quite a bit No way to know how long/if they'll last . Adding 1 new battery can get you thru a season but will degrade the new batt faster than if all were replaced. charge em up, monitor the charge cycle now & then, Probably gonna smell some as they charge May take a few charge cycle to get them to hold a charge. might be OK, for a while. Good luck |

Re: battery problems
you will need to replace the new battery with the old ones when you get a new pack-the new battery will be damaged by the old batteries in the pack...
i did the 1 battery thing and i am 3 years on that pack still-sometimes it is the thing to do-sometimes its not.... |

Re: battery problems
I have a related question. I have new batteries as of 1/17. Every time I check them they have plenty of water. I haven't had to fill them at all yet. At what rate does the water dwindle down and what conditions will effect the process? Is sudden water loss ever a possibility?

The first year I did not have to add much water...seems like maybe 1 or 2 times...and not much added. After the first year...I have added water a time or 2 so far. I will be adding some more this weekend. Not sure if my situation is normal, but I keep a good eye on my water levels and charge levels. Skip Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk |

sudden loss of water is possible-i have seen it personally-there is no norm for water loss due to charging, that is why a schedule of inspection is prudent |

Re: battery problems
Heavy cycling and the number of cycles is what seems to have the most affect on the water level. In our fleet it is common for older batteries to use more water. You may notice that older batteries want to corrode more too.

Re: battery problems
Thanks for the responses. I use my cart 4+ ties a week for 2-5 miles. No noticeable water loss for 4 months. Just wanting a gauge but it sounds like it varies and you just have to keep checking.
