Default Need.help with Admiral B2 settings

I just installed an admiral B2 motor and the stock settings with the alltrax controller are very jerky on the initial throttle input. any suggestions on what to change to make it a much smoother launch? Also want this.motor to last as long as possible, Would you suggest bringing down both the max motoring amature and battery amps?

Start by programming a bell curve into the throttle graph and lower the throttle ramp rate, put max rpms between 5000 - 5500.

You use speed or torque? Regular or custom pull down?

I put the throttle rate from 50% to 10 and.it is still lurching

Try adjusting the Throttle Linearization curve. Attachment-1 is how mine is set and it works well for my setup.

Throttle linearization is how the controller interprets the physical position of the pedal vs the electrical throttle input to the controller.

When my pedal is pushed halfway down, the controller believes it is only 30% down, so the first half of pedal travel gives me gentle takeoffs and smooth maneuvering abilities in tight places while the last half gives me the oomph.

Tweak the Speed and Torque curves to further refine the pedal sensitivity to your liking.

Throttle rate, linearization, speed and torque are all interactive and the hierarchy is more or less in the order listed.

Rate is how fast the controller reacts to a change in pedal position.
Linearization is physical position vs electrical position
Speed and Torque are roughly equals in hierarchy and lowest on totem pole.

You should not have to go lower than 30%. But I have seen as low as 20% required.
Select turf instead of street for smoother operation.
Use a smooth bell curve as shown for the red line (speed)
When you have made your curve or your settings, click the set button.
The set button will turn blue - you must wait for the button to turn gray again before changing the page or closing the program.
Do the set button thing for each page.
Close the program and re-open it to check and verify the changes you 'set' took.

24% according to this screen save, but I've tweaked it some since then. IIRC, it is about 15% at present.

My XCT-PDS was one of the first customer installs and it came with raw Alltrax factory settings rather than the way Scotty programs them now.

The Throttle rate as received was 80% and the F1 & F2 terminals were reversed on schematic, so the cart took off going backwards and left black marks on the garage floor when I barely touched the pedal the first time. Of course my setup produces about 53% more torque than stock.
(42V = +16.7%, 17" tall tires = +5.6% and motor is +30%)

Your setting will most likely be different than mine.

I gotta run, going to be out of town for a few days.

He hee - we're on 4.0 Here is a throttle curve I just plotted for a 42v PDS with D&D 502 motor - Thing tended to be froggy. I set throttle rate at 30% and went with TURF mode.

This should work for you too

I was contacting Alltrax tech about some program stuff and asked about your hesitation problem. I got this response which I did not know. Hope it helps

The hesitation on start we believe is a problem with how the linearized throttle position is set, if someone gets that have them pull up the toolkit, make sure they can see linearized throttle position (a check box in the tools à options window will let you see it if they can’t already). We want to check the Big double sided arrow in the top left corner, if you hover your mouse over it you should see a number pop up. If it’s a high number drop it to 5% if it’s already at 5% drop it to 1% and see if that helps.
