2002 txt
Just purchased 2002 36v txt. Batteries about 2 years old. Lifted and not sure of tire size, haven't measured. Ran it last night and speed was 12 MPhil on GPS. Is this about tight for stock motor.? Seemed a little slow.. suggestions to increase speed.

Re: 2002 txt
12-14 would be standard speed for a series cart. Bigger tires would increase speed?
Can you ID the drive system using the flow chart attached? |

Re: 2002 txt
I have 22 inch tires. Not good with the electric carts, trying to figure out where everything is located. Can you tell me where everything is located?

Re: 2002 txt
more speed for series=more voltage...48v is the best way to get where you want to go-however-SirNuke has a fast 36v cart build that may interest you...he is mostly on road and in flat land...

Re: 2002 txt
boatertim.....seeing as how you have a Series cart....and its running 12 to 14 mph, its stock and doing its job correctly. if you need/want more speed, there are a few different ways to get there. It all depends on how you use your cart as to the best way to go so that your cart will perform 100%.
1. is your cart going to be used "off-road"? or is primarily for on the street? 2. is the area where you will be using your cart flat (or relatively flat) or hilly? 3. do you need/want more speed? or are you in need or more torque? as Mutant mentioned, going to 48v is an option....that will increase your speed/torque roughly 30%. JUST BE ADVISED......to get more out of a SERIES cart, and make it truly reliable, you will need to do one or a combination if these 3 things: 1. upgrade the drive system (controller, solenoid, HD F&R, and cables) 2. go to 48v (which also requires #1) 3. upgrade the motor You can see in my sig....I upgraded my drive system AND got a new motor. And because of the components I upgraded with, when I get a new batter pack in the future can bump to 48v in I want in the future for the small fee of about $10 in additional equipment upgrade. |

Re: 2002 txt
Thanks Sir Nuke, The cart will be used mostly for street use and we have some small hills. Currently drags a little on the hills. I was hoping for about 17 to 18 mph as a comfortable cruising speed. I'll look into the upgraded drive system in the future. Thanks for the help. Tried to take a picture of the underseat area, but it turned out too dark to really see anything.
