After storage cart won't move (charger problem?)
So after a period of no use, I am trying to get my 36 volt series cart ready for summer uses.
First noticed an issue when the charger didn't click on when connected. I thought maybe the batteries were too depleted so I checked all the water levels (filled some that were low) and changed each battery individually with my truck battery charger for a couple minutes. After reinstalling all batteries I have a pack voltage of 21v. Plug in charger and still nothing. Any ideas? (Also cart won't move as is. Not sure it should but I thought it would show some sign of life. No solenoid click or anything). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Also the cart beeped three short beeps one time while the key switch was on, and then beeped one long beep after I turned the switch off.

Re: After storage cart won't move (charger problem?)
Try to charge the batteries more, then try charger again. 21 volts for months, they're toast. You may be able to limp around for very short distances, but their hill climbing, long distant days are in the past.
Unless you have a float charger, you need to unplug the charger from the cart then plug it in again every month. Also check water each time. |

You'll need about 28v for the charger to kick on.

Will charge them tonight. At what voltage will the solenoid activate?

Forget charging them individually. Just remove the charger cover and connect the 2 wires together that go into the relay. That will turn the charger on and charge all the batteries equal. Let it charge for 20 minutes, then reconnect the wires. Let the charger run to shut off.

And adding water to dead batteries won't help charge them up, but will almost guarantee acid mess on the floor when you do get them fully charged.....
