Welcome to BGW
Step 1. identify the drive system you are asking about:

Hey scottyb,

Just curious but would you say if you have to jump the solenoid to get it to move, that most of the time it's a bad solenoid? I know there could be other issues like the controller but I was just curious. I will also say I have seen many TXT carts that wont move and for me it is really rare that the solenoid is the issue. That is my personal experience anyway

I can jump my solenoid and the cart will work. My solenoid works just fine. All jumping does is take the solenoid out of the loop.

If a working solenoid doesn't get activation voltage across the coil, it won't go. This could be caused by a number of switches, connectors, and wires. Also, a series get's it's activation voltage from a different source than other carts.

Clarification, we don't know if he's applying power to the coil, or jumpering the high current posts.

Also, would be good to know if the solenoid is clicking, without the "jumper".

That's true, that info would be helpful. I would assume he means across the large posts but that's just my assumption

Jumping the solenoid takes the whole low amperage side of the system and the solenoid out of the equation. Basically all it is telling you is the control, motor, high amp cables, and F&R are working

75% (+/-) of the time the trouble is in the low amperage side.
