Can your cable be too big?
I just ordered the final upgrades to take advantage of that 500 amp controller. Solenoid and SW202. I know I need to upgrade the cable to 2awg. But I already have some 1/0 awg Sooooo... other than extra weight, is it gonna hurt anything?

The only disadvantages of larger cable are, adds weight to vehicle, and larger cable is Less flexible to route In the cart. Hey, overkill is the best way to kill...

It doesn't say "Welding Cable" like I have seen on some welding cable. All it says is:

The advantage of welding cable is the insulation is meant to be dragged through all kinds of environments, from oily construction sites, etc. and seems to be fairly rugged, chemically resistant, and flexible. If your cable doesn't have a really high strand count - flexibility and good for high frequency - forget about it. Tinned may be bad, when it comes to HF losses? Dunno.

sounds like it might be what you have. I'd buy 'em from SccottyB. I made my own, but once you factor in the labor cost, I doubt I made minimum wage. |

Here's the spec sheet in JPG format.
The 1/0 gauge is 1045 strands of AWG-30, which ought to be fairly flexible, so the question boils down whether the insulation can withstand the corrosive environment found in the cart's battery compartment. |
