Thank You BGW
Thanks to this forum I was able to fix a PDS cart for an older lady that was told her control box was fried. She could not afford a new one so I was volunteered for the job by SHMBO.
Any how, after reading stickys and post's with similar issues I was able to properly diagnose and fix this for her. All I knew about golf carts before I started this is the green ones are faster than the white ones an the golf course. The problem was a bad battery. I was told the batteries were good and had already been checked.(later found that "checked" meant the water level) When the voltage was to low the first thing I did was check the batteries and found one only holding 4.35 volts. The batteries are only about a year old so I really didn't even suspect them. ALWASE CHECK THE BATTERIES new dose not mean working. One thing I still cant figure out and would love if some can explain to me why the bad battery would show 12.88 volts when the charger was connected? It was dropping and after about 10 minuets on the charger it was down to 10.45 volts. how is this possible on a 3 cell 6v battery? All the other batteries were showing 6.12 or 6.11 when the charger was connected. Thank you BGW! |
