Default Bolt-in battery tray - any experience

Like many of you, my battery tray is falling apart. I am not sure if I can put in steel bar to repair or if it might be prudent to get one of these alleged bolt in trays that come in, I believe, four pieces.

I am really hoping I can locate someone who has used one of these kits and can reply with their experience installing it, and maybe even some pictures.

Thank you.

I was just posting about this on my thread it's currently right next to yours on electric ezgo page: EZGO PDS new to me, PO fried the controller while charging (Multi-page thread 1 2)

Mine came in one piece and requires pretty much just rear body removal to change.

I sprayed it really good with rust killing type paint, but others recommended POR15.

It's not hard to change out. Got it from a site sponsor.

Biggest pain is drilling out rivets really, the rest is basic.

If your bolts are rusted coat them with penetrating lubricant before hand and then sand off any rust on your frame and paint it.

Good luck!

I got mine from DIYGolfcarts and it came in one piece and was very straightforward to install. Of course, I already had the body off the cart so I had easy access.

I had a much harder time getting my previous one off as the bolts were rusted too bad. Had to use an angle grinder and actually cut off one of the front corners.

TXT battery tray can be installed with the rear body on, but you might not enjoy doing it. It's a pain.

I did my aluminum tray install with body on. However, I cut the existing vertical hanger down at the tray. Then cut the tops of the new hangers. From there I clamped them together and drilled two holes per. Tightened bolts and done deal.

I haven't looked at mine for years, but make sure the bolt heads don't rub against the batteries. If they do, you should probably cover them with something like a cut mouse pad.

My battery tray bolted in, but it was all one piece.

Do you have a link or picture of what you are talking about?

Read his description of how he bolted it in. He cut existing uprights, and through bolted the existing and new together. Thus my warning, assuming you were talking to me?
