RXV brake light reverse polarity - turn off when I press pedal

I have a 2012 RXV and I just installed a delux light kit from RecPro.

When I connected the harness to the battery the brake lights were turned on. And when I press the pedal the lights turn off.

I checked the blinkers, horn, and running lights switch and everything else works fine.

The solenoid clicks when I press the pedal but because the lights are already illuminated, they turn off.

I attached a picture of my setup. I have tried every combination of the red, white, and black wires on the solenoid (black box in the middle of the picture).

I have also switched the two red wires that connect straight into the bracket where the new brake pedal switch is mounted(shown in the picture on the far left).

I also tried flipping the red wires on the random black switch that just floats in the floorboard seen on the far right in the picture...no luck.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Any luck solving your problem

- I also have a question re: brake lights if you sorted the issue out- I bought the RECPRO LED KIT .. when I press the brake pedal the brake lights illuminate .. but then stay on for about 20-30 seconds after the pedal is released.. I can hear a click from the unit.. just seeing if this can be overridden and perform normally on/off with no delay

I had the exact issue you are referring to. You need to swap the leads on the switch to the two that are not currently used. One setting is normally closed and the other normally open. You will need a tiny punch or precision screwdriver to remove the connectors from the plastic housing and switch them to the others. I did it last week and all is well.

Does your light kit behave the same as mine - a 20-30 second delay in turning off?

Sorry, should have quoted. I was referring to RXVJoe's problem. Mine does have the delay, but only when I hold the pedal down for an extended time. It's set up that way for a cart with a locking pedal parking brake which the RXV does not have. I'm not sure why Rec includes that in the RXV harness as it is not needed, but I'm not sure how to pull it from the loop and still work.
