Default EZGO Powerwise QE Charger question.

So I have the EZGO Powerwise QE Charger for my 36v cart. Looking to get a new set of batteries, since the ones I have are 7 years old.

Been reading about chargers today, and I am curious to find out if the Powerwise QE is recommended for use, after spending my hard earned $$s.

Also, can I leave this charger plugged in without any fear of doing any damage? Does it switch off when the charge is completed?

That QE charger is a ticking time bomb for when it will stop working, I'm surprised it's still going now. Get a DPI charger from www.cartsunlimited.net , best price on the net. That QE charger won't "harm" your batteries for leaving it plugged in, but no guarantees it will keep them charged either (that will harm them). The DPI will keep them charged when you leave it plugged in. I got a whole pile of those QE chargers like you have, dead.

Ditto. You pay hundreds of dollars on your batteries. A few more hundred will help you get your money's worth.

Well the older chargers you could repair them yourself and they were built like a tank. The QE are very light weight and only dealer repairable I believe. The cost to repair isn't much off from the cost on a new DPI charger. So not worth repairing for most people.

I'm a dealer, I can't repair them either. The "ac board" is supposed to be available, but it's not. The AC board never fails. I can get cords, that's it.

Where are you located? I've got a 48v powerwise boat anchor that trips 110 breakers when plugged in, it's on the scrap pile inside a barn.

Why? You want a really nice heatsink with a bunch of other garbage chips and things attached? I have a pile of em. I already tried making a golf cart air conditioner with peltier elements, too much power useage.
