Suddenly stopped but clicks in F and R
36V 1999 EZ Go TXT Series Lifted
Batts good Wires good Cart suddenly stopped on the path. Key switch lights red. FNR switch seems to work when moved since I can hear it. The Curtis Controller will click when the FNR switch is in F and R and the pedal is pressed. I removed the Controller cover and can feel/hear the Solenoid switch when pedal is pressed. The solenoid is hot to the touch. I assume its the Solenoid not powering the motor? My son was driving the cart at the time and I have a sneaking suspicion that he had too many riders! |

Re: Suddenly stopped but clicks in F and R
Do you have a voltage meter to test voltage?

Re: Suddenly stopped but clicks in F and R
Thank you.
Yes, I have a volt meter. I'm not really clear on where to test. I've tried searching this forum, but I'm sure I'm missing something. The Solenoid feels/sounds like it's working, but it is hot to the touch. |

Re: Suddenly stopped but clicks in F and R
Put your cart on jack stands or block it up we don't want it to take off on you.
Volt meter black wire goes on the main battery pack negative post. Red test wire will measure voltage. On the solenoid take off the resistor. We don't want it on to run this test. Put red test lead on one post you should have full pack voltage. Now test the other post there should be no voltage. If so with cart on jacks stands F/R lever in forward push gas pedal just far enough for solenoid to click. Now test to see if you have pack voltage on both bigger post on the solenoid. If you have full pack voltage on both bigger posts your solenoid is working. |

Re: Suddenly stopped but clicks in F and R
Thanks, ran that test. On the left side of solenoid, no voltage when in Fwd, key on and pedal down.
Right side measured pack voltage which is 40V. Here is a pic of the side without voltage. |

Looks like you need a new solenoid.

Re: Suddenly stopped but clicks in F and R
If the right side cable that has the pack voltage can reach the left side on the solenoid you can jump across and cart should go.
