96' TXT Snapped Axle
The driver's side axle on my TXT snapped right at the bearings. Any suggestions on how to pull the axle since there is not enough to grip with pliers and I do not have access to a welding machine? Can I drill the axle and run a self-tapping screw or is the axle to hard?

I would drop the pan and see if you cannot push it out enough to get hold of it.

Yes that is one possible solution. In the event that does not work any other suggestions?

Re: 96' TXT Snapped Axle
It will work, with a little pry bar or large screwdriver. If you get in there, you can see the end of the axle in the middle of the carrier, riding against the pin for the spider gears. Wedging between the axle shaft and the pin for the spider gears will leave the axle no choice but to exit.

Thanks guys. Going up to the ranch this weekend to work on changing the axle. Will report back how it goes.

Re: 96' TXT Snapped Axle
Have the new axle, bearing and seal kit for both axles, oil for rear diff, rtv to seal the diff housing when done, and a few more items for just in case.

And a scraper, to clean off the old RTV.

Re: 96' TXT Snapped Axle
Got the axle replace. Not as difficult as I thought it would be. Opened the diff cover and pushed the axle out just enough to get grip on bearings to pull axle. Below is a pic of the snapped axle. Cart had been sit a few weeks waiting on parts so some rust developed on axle that was not there at time of failure.
